Finley Vi turned 4 on February 19th and we celebrated with family the weekend before. Finley was just coming off of a nasty illness and SiSi was still battling pneumonia when we all gathered, but it was still a fun day had by all. Of course, Finley had to wear her favorite dress that Sadie gave her and after Sadie played dress-up with Finley, she ended up in her ballerina tutu. Finley's guests were Grandmas Brenda, Belva, and Julie, Grandpa Kevin and Tim, Great Grandma Tud, Aunties Megan and Annie, Uncle Luke and (almost uncle) Phil, Great Aunt Sondra and Great Uncle Steve, Sadie, Mommy, Daddy, and Finley's best present, Tory ;) Finley got wonderful presents - Crayola color crayons, coloring books, nailpolish, a yoga ball and mat, a sparkly dance shirt, games, and a "princess net" for her bed, among others. After eating nummy barbecues from Grandma Brenda and Hello Kitty DQ ice cream cake that Mommy decorated to Finley's liking, we all went outside for some fun sledding and snowboarding on our big, backyard hill.
On Finley's actual birthday, the next weekend, Finley woke up and spent the morning in bed with Mommy, Daddy, and Sienna. After opening presents and playing with the balloons and candy that Miss Shana sent home for her, Finley got to go to her very first movie with Mommy and Daddy. We went to the Lakeville theater and saw Tangled. She was a little nervous when we walked in and she saw how BIG the place was. She sat in Mommy's lap the entire movie and whenever a scary part came, she covered her eyes with the Hello Kitty flip flops she had gotten that morning and brought along. It was a really good movie and Finley's favorite part was when Rapunzel got her hair braided. She must have had a really great birthday because the next day was a really hard one. She kept saying, "I'm having a rough day." We called it her "birthday hangover."
