Finley Doesn't Want to Grow Up

This morning, Finley came to me with tears in her eyes saying, "I don't want to get big like you, Mom." I asked her why and she said, "Because I want to wear my little girl clothes." She started bawling and just kept saying, "I don't want to get big." I told her, "Well, that's the way God made us. We start out little and we have to get big." She said, "Well, maybe we can ask that lady, Pastor Mary, if she can help me." I told her that was a good idea but I didn't think it would change anything ;) What a little smarty.

Just a Typical Friday Night at the Bernhardt-Peterson's

These might get a little long, but there are some adorable moments from our little Finley (and Luke). I can imagine Auntie Annie will be happy to watch them from her distant location. We'll have an encore when she returns, I'm sure.

Finley Starts Dance!

Last week, Finley, Sienna, and Mommy went to watch Sadie dance at Family Night. Finley watched attentively to everything Sadie did for an hour. When we got home, she played dance all night. She would pretend to turn on the music, she counted, she chasez-ed and shuffle-stepped, she leapt, and spinned for hours. She wouldn't stop talking about Miss Shana and begged for dance shoes. After a couple days of this, we knew this wasn't just a fleeting obsession and we signed her up for lessons herself. All day before her lesson, she watched Sadie on the computer and danced along with her. When we finally got to go to dance lessons, she ran in ahead of me, threw on her tap shoes and went into the studio before I even knew where she went! When it was time to switch to ballet shoes, she wouldn't let me help her, only Miss Shana. When she got home, she practiced some more. My dream may be coming true - I may just have a future "So You Think You Can Dance" contestant!
