Finley and Mommy went to school today so Mommy could get some work done on her break. We brought Finley's favorite video, "La Dee Da Dee" and played it on the big LCD screen, which Finley thought was pretty cool - especially since she had just seen the Twins' big screen at their new stadium. After doing some exploring, Finley settled in and painted, colored, and cut a BEAUTIFUL picture. While Mommy was cleaning up, Finley found a worksheet and decided she needed to complete it like the big kids. As you can see, she is a pretty amazing circle-maker! When we left, she said, "I like your school, Mom. It's fun." Then, because she was so good for Mommy at school, we went to McDonald's to get a kids' meal. When we were eating, Mommy said, "Oh this is so good," and Finley said, "No, Mom. It's not good. It's delicious."

Go Twins!
While Grandpa and Grandma were soaking up the sun in Mexico, Finley, Daddy and I spent the day soaking up the sun at the new Twins Stadium. Cam was like a little boy all through lunch - in fact, he was so excited he accidentally tipped the server over 15 bucks on a 35 dollar bill! He almost ran into the stadium and poor Mommy and Finley could hardly keep up. We found Grandpa's seats and checked out the view. We did have to stand under the heat lamps, I have to admit, but it wasn't too bad. Grandpa will be glad to know that the stairs are much more conducive to drinking as they are much less steep than the Dome's. The bathrooms are a little small, but they have water-saving flushers, which I find rather admirable - you pull up for liquid waste and push down for solid waste. I'm pretty sure Minneapolis was very excited because there were lots of people drinking at 2 in the afternoon and there wasn't even a game! Go Twins!
Little Golfer
On the first nice day of the year, Finley and I played outside for a long time. Finley was playing with Sadie's golf clubs and proved she has a natural talent for hitting the ball hard. First, she kept facing the head of the club toward her before swinging and she couldn't get the ball to go very far. I told her to point the head of the club up to the sky, which I think explains why every time she would set up her swing, she would lift the entire club and point it at the sky. You'll see in this video that she discovered that Daddy hid a pail full of dead fish on the side of the house. She was pretty much done hitting the ball past the side of the house after she knew that was there!

Finley's, Grandpa's, and Grandma's Big Day!
Finley had a VERY enjoyable birthday at the Holiday Inn in Fairmont. We arrived Friday night and immediately hit the pool. After going to bed a little later than usual, we woke up Saturday morning and spent the entire day at - where else - the pool! Finley wore her favorite birthday outfit and loved every minute of being the girl of the day. Almost all of the special people in Finley's life were at the party - Mom, Dad, Grandma Brenda and Grandpa Kevin, Grandma Julie and Jimmy, Grandma Belva and Grandpa Tim, Sadie, Megan, Hannah, Zach, Steve, Sondra, Great Grandma Tud, Tina, Lydia...and a random girl! Great Grandpa Bud came later with Mommy's cousins and Auntie Gloria brought a present for Finners, too. When the delicious food and cake was eaten and all the presents were opened, Finley was VERY tired. Luckily, she was able to catch a couple hours of shut-eye before celebrating Grandma and Grandpa's 40th wedding anniversary. Finners was a DANCING FOOL and showed everyone her signature move - the right-leg-kick. It couldn't have been a better weekend!
