Finley Pooped in the Potty!

Yippee! Finners came home from school today and was very silly. After we joked around a little, I told her I had to go potty. I sat on her little potty and pretend tooted. She said, "No, I do it!" I pulled her pants down and her pull-up off and she told me to go away. I knew that was a good sign since she always makes us leave the room when she goes into her corner. I came back and she looked very proud. Lo and behold, there was a lovely turd in the potty. Who knew I would be so happy to look at a turd!! Aren't you glad I didn't post a picture!?

Funny Finley

"Oh my dannit!"

"I spin. It makes me happy."

Finley: "Mom, where are my headbands?"
Mom: "In your room." (proceeds to tell Cam where headbands are)
Finley to Cam: "You know how to do it? You put it on my ears?"

Finley: "That smells like poop."
Mom: "What does?"
Finley: "You."

Smartest, Funniest, Cutest Girl in the World

Finley and Mommy have been spending some quality time together this MEA. While Daddy has been in Trimont enjoying his "boy time", Finley has been all about role-playing and acting like the big kids she sees at school. She's read me the same book about a hundred times this weekend. It happens to be an empty checkbook that she holds up like she's reading to the "class" and says, "He wants to go to the beach." Turn page. "He wants to go to the beach." Turn page. Repeat about 800 more times. Last night, she put on every single piece of jewelry, hat, costume, etc. she could find before hitting the hay. This morning, we were awakened by the "wordpoker" that likes to eat the wall outside our bedrooms. Of course, she was very concerned with this all day long, but not enough to keep her from wanting to play outside all morning. Luckily, it was finally a lovely day with some sun. After running up and down the hill hundreds of times ("Your turn" she would say), she finally decided she wanted to draw with the chalk. I showed her how to write an "F" for Finley once and she made 3 or 4 more all by herself, perfectly. She's a genius! Of course, she gets it all from her mother, right? ;)

Big Girl Finley

Oh, Finley is growing up so fast. Due to the surprise snow we had early this week, we discovered that we had to get her a new winter coat and snowpants since a quarter of her arms were sticking out of the sleeves of her old one. Now, she's styling! She's also sporting some new big girl underpants. Out of the blue, she decided that she wanted to be like Maddie (the potty-training girl on the free, promotional DVD from Pull-Ups we got in the mail last year). She had 2 accidents, but she peed in the potty 4 times yesterday. Today, she spent most of the day in her big girl pants. She still won't poop in the potty, but she is so proud of herself. Keep your fingers crossed that she doesn't revert...

A Family Affair

Uncle Josh and Auntie Jill came to visit for the Gopher game last weekend. Finley finally acted completely comfortable with her Auntie and Uncle from afar, and she had fun with her Grandma Julie and "Jimmy". When she woke up from her super-long nap and discovered they had all gone home, she was very sad :( We can't wait for the next visit!

Tiny Dancer and Her Cousin

Since Megan had her tonsils out, Finley and I have been spending a lot of quality time with Sadie-kins. Last week, we took her to dance class and Sadie showed off her leotards. While Sadie got dressed, Finley practiced her moves, which resembled yoga, gymnastics, bobsledding and football.

Finley and Her Boyfriend

We baby-sat for Megan "Sinn" Mulder's little boy, Maddox, a couple weeks ago. Finley ADORED him and took such good care of him, just like her Cousin Sadie takes care of her. I think she thought she was pretty cool to be the older of the two! Plus, Maddox is pretty much the cutest little thing I have ever seen besides Finley and Sadie!

Gorgeous Girl!

Finley's favorite activity as of late has been putting on make-up. She always takes something out of her make-up case and asks, "Where this go?" As you can see, she is really good at getting it just where it's supposed to go. ;)
