Finley and her Sister

We went to visit Finley's cousin Sadie yesterday so I could go to yoga with my sisters. Some of you may know that Sadie thinks Finley is her sister. It's pretty cute. Sadie is so nice to Finn. She loves when Finley grabs her fingers and she kisses her all the time. The best part of yesterday was when Sadie gave Finley a full concert of "High School Musical" songs with a microphone and all the histrionics. Luckily, I had my video camera to capture it all!

And yes, as my mom said on her comment of the last entry, Finley is smiling up a storm. It's great to see her little dimples. I sang her some lullabies today and she smiled the whole time. She does love music!

Here's a shout-out to Great Uncle Tom Laven. Finley's thinking of you and can't wait to meet you! Feel better soon :)

More Firsts

Finley has been quite busy the last few days having lots of firsts. On Thursday, she met Cam's cousin, Tory. She liked him a lot and was very relaxed with him, as you can see. On Friday, Finn met her first great-grandparents, Grandma and Grandpa Laven. They stopped by on their way back from their winter in Arizona. Finley and Grandma Laven were mutually in love with one another. On Sunday, Finley went to church for the first time. She was very good and was introduced to the congregation by Pastor Mary. She was a hit! While Finley was having lots of firsts, mom and dad got to have one as well. Cam and I went on our first "date" without Finley Sunday night and left her with a babysitter. While we got to meet a couple of friends before seeing an awesome Patty Griffin concert, Grandma Brenda got to spend some quality time with Finn. With the weather turning warm finally, she has been taking lots of walks with her mom and dad. Today, we enjoyed the 80 degree weather on our trek around Lake Calhoun. Don't worry - she wore a bonnet and we kept her covered up ;)

Happy Birthday Finley Vi!

Finley turned 1 month old yesterday. Cam pointed out that it's a "short" month old, though, since February was a short month. On Friday, we had professional pictures taken. She slept through the first few, but when she woke up, she was not happy. It took the magical hairdryer to get her to relax enough to finish her sitting. We can't wait to see how our little model did! Following her first photo shoot, she went out to eat in a restaurant for the first time. She slept through the entire thing (thankfully), which is unusual since she has a sixth sense for when her mother wants to eat. Finley, mom and dad spent the weekend at Grandma and Grandpa Bernhardt's in Waseca and had a quick visit at her Auntie Megan and Hannah's house in Savage. Cousin Sadie held her and loved her and even got to help feed her a bottle.

As for life at home, Finley usually goes to bed after her bath - which she loves - around 10:30 pm. She'll sleep until about 2:30 am. If she's really sleepy, she'll nurse in bed with mom and dad and fall asleep there. If she has a tummy ache, she can keep her mommy up until 5 in the morning :( Dad changes her diaper almost every morning before he goes to work, then puts her back to bed, where she sleeps until about 10:00 am. She nurses, gets a diaper and clothes change before falling asleep again around noon. She nurses and naps all afternoon, but one thing is for sure - she WILL NOT let anyone put her down for more than 20 minutes. She's becoming much more aware of her surroundings and seems to smile, although it's probably just gas at this point. She has an adorable little dimple that both her mom and dad look forward to seeing each day.

She loves and misses you all!
